Aidan Trieu Saunders was born on January 12, 2002 at 12:01pm, one hour before his brother’s birthday party! He was born in Coupeville, WA and weighed in at 9 pounds 7 ounces! He came out looking like a little sumo wrestler with these broad shoulders, the chubbiest face and this curly black hair! Aidan was a good sleeper at the beginning, and did not like to wake up much to nurse. He eventually acquired jaundice and had to be hospitalized. That was quite a trial for me to see his little body in the incubator, and being poked and prodded, and he had to wear this mask over his eyes even when he was not sleeping.
Aidan had a lot of ear infections and had a hard time breathing when he slept. Eventually his pediatrician sent him to an ENT and after putting tubes in his ears and removing his enlarged adenoids, Aidan slept like a baby (that night anyway). He is such a fun kid and says the funniest things. He has always had a large vocabulary, and likes to converse with adults. Aidan loves video games and superheroes, especially Spiderman. He loves action figures, stuffed animals, and playing with fire (at camp). He has a great time digging in the sand at the beach and swimming at the pool. Hot tubbing is also high on the list.
Aidan loves soccer even though he is not very aggressive. He mainly likes to be the goalie and likes to dive for the ball. Dad has made him do a little bit of wrestling. Aidan was the only child that I home-schooled for preschool, and I really enjoyed that. He is such a willing learner, and picks things up so quickly. He is actually reading at a third grade level right now, and is in Kindergarten. He loves to read nonfiction books about animals, as well as any good story.
Aidan is my little helper. He always gets me drinks of water, blankies when I am cold, or whatever else I need. He has a big heart and is just a sweet kid. One thing I love to watch Aidan do is eat. He thoroughly enjoys his food, and it’s just fun to watch him do it! Although he was my biggest baby, he is by far, the skinniest kid in the family. I wonder if he will be taller than his older siblings one day, very soon! I am really glad Aidan came to our family!
